TOLG’s CSR activities are carried out under the auspices of the Tokunbo Orimobi Foundation.
There comes a time when the growth of an organization is not only measured by its achievements in its business sector or amongst its contemporaries, but in the warmness with which it inspires the lives of the society in which it operates.
Our Foundation is founded on the tripod of Mentorship, Education and Advisory. The purpose of the Foundation is to provide mentorship, educational support, advisory services to individuals that may not be able to afford same.
The Foundation is committed to ethics that respect the interests of stakeholders and recognize the importance of the community.
The Foundation has offices in Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan and Port Harcourt.
The Tokunbo Orimobi Foundation focuses actively on the upliftment of undergraduate students. The LAS Series is an informal platform that helps groom university undergraduates (especially those in their final year) and prepares them for the corporate world. Issues such as Loyalty, Assertiveness, Diplomacy, Respect for Constituted Authority, Handling Politics in the Work Place, Handling Criticisms and other soft skill issues, are discussed.
Through the Tokunbo Orimobi Foundation, we are able to offer undergraduates and graduates an opportunity to work for a period of time in TOLG. Unlike conventional employment, internships have an emphasis on training and it is usually a period of practical experience valuable to students or graduates as a means to allowing them experience how their theories are applied in the “real world”.
The objective of the competition is to create a platform for undergraduate students to tackle transactional law matters in diverse areas of practice such as capital markets, mergers & acquisition, banking and finance. The competition is set to open up a frontier for discussions on emerging trends affecting the growth of the aforementioned areas of practice locally and globally.
We also aim to create awareness for these practice areas in the minds of undergraduate students via this programme.
In partnership with some SME bodies, Finance and Consulting firms, the Tokunbo Orimobi Foundation organizes periodic Business Seminars across the country, to equip entrepreneurs, CEOs, MDs and other decision makers in organizations. Whilst impacting them with business skills, a thorough correction process is carried out for their business models, legal structure etc.
The DBN Series is a roundtable discussion with investors focused on examining the current and projected economic outlook and benefits of doing business in Nigeria.
The Foundation has held previous editions in New York, London, Johannesburg and Lagos.
The Foundation adopted the St Judes Anglican School in Ikeji Ile, Osun State. Via this initiative, the Foundation provides basic educational materials, infrastructure and financial support for the students with a view to ensuring that the students at least meet up with the minimum required educational standards.
Through our Pro-bono programme, we not only help individuals to rebuild and restore their lives, we help to foster industries and organizations that address underlying issues and challenges in our society.
Some of the areas we cover under our Pro-bono scheme are:
The Law Meets Series is an initiative developed by the Foundation to focus on showcasing the talents of budding entrepreneurs with a view to transforming their talents/ideas into viable business ventures.
The Foundation birthed this initiative in 2019. The Law Meets Art, which was held in September 2019, was a veritable platform that provided a meeting point for artistes, art enthusiasts, small businesses and investors who intended to explore the talents of these artistes by investing in their craft/businesses. The Law Meets Music, which was held in December 2019, was an avenue for young and upcoming musicians to show case their talents and introduce their voice to Corporate Nigeria.
